What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy utilises hypnosis to enable change to occur. While in hypnosis you are able to relax and focus inwardly in order to access your subconscious mind. It is this area of the mind which controls automatic thoughts and reactions.Your mind will automatically focus on suggestions so it is important that the right kind of positive suggestion is made to facilitate the change you desire.These suggestions will be in accord with your desire to change something about you. This might be nail biting, stopping smoking or whatever your need is.
While in hypnosis you are in control at all times and will be aware of sounds inside and outside of the room but your focus will be on the voice of the therapist as you are guided into that state of relaxation known as hypnosis. Your mind will not accept suggestions which are at odds with your own personal ethics and as such you cannot be made to do anything you do not want to.
